St. Andrew’s Aller -- Annual Meetings held in the Village Hall.
26th April 2010

Rev. Hugh Ellis opened the meeting with prayers.

Minutes of Annual Parish Meeting.

Minutes:    Minutes of the 2009 meeting were read by John Whitfield; acceptance was proposed by Elaine Major and Seconded by David Major; duly agreed and signed as a true record of the meeting by John Whitfield.

Matters Arising: There were no matters arising.

Election of Churchwardens: Pat Harvey was by proposed G. Sims, seconded D. Major

David Mayor proposed by A. Sims Seconded R. Harvey both were duly elected.

Rev. Hugh Ellis thanked John Whitfield for his help during his lengthy term of office as the lone Churchwarden and Lay Chair.

The Arch Deacon’s visitation will be on 12th May at Ash.

Minutes of Annual Parochial Meeting

Present:     As above.

Minutes:    The minutes of the 2009 Annual Parochial Meeting were circulated to those present. Acceptance was proposed by E. Major, seconded by R. Little, all were in agreement.

Matters Arising:   None.
A.O.B.    No items had been notified.

Electoral Roll: Pat Harvey reported there are now 29 on the Electoral Roll.   Interest has been shown by some Parishioners to be added to the Roll, this is to be followed up by Pat. Thanks were given to Pat for carrying out this work.


Financial    Report & Accounts:   Louise Evans explained the balance sheet which had been circulated to the Meeting.

Celia Mayor queried the loan made to St. Mary’s for the Angel project, John Whitfield advised that this had been repaid in full, during the current financial year, as was agreed. C. Mayor enquired if the closure of Long Load had increased the Parish share, it was confirmed that this was correct.

Mike Liley enquired about the Langport Area Team payment, Hugh Ellis and Louise Evans explained this payment covered Clergy and Team expenses. Hugh Ellis asked Mike to speak to the Team Treasurer for a break down of this figure.

John Whitfield pointed out that Aller has always paid their full share of the Team share although some other Parishes have failed to do this.
Acceptance of the accounts was proposed by David Mayor, seconded Pat Harvey all were in agreement.

David Mayor proposed a vote of thanks to Louise for her work as Treasurer.

Appointment of Examiner   Louise proposed we retain John Ford in the position of Auditor seconded Elaine Major, all were in agreement.

Churchwarden’s Report: John Whitfield presented the Churchwarden’s Report.   A copy of which had been circulated to the Meeting.

Team Rector’s Report: Hugh Ellis presented his Report to the meeting explaining that it had been a difficult year for himself and for Aller.   Thanks were expressed to the P.C.C. and David Mayor for their help and support.

Deanery Synod Report: None.

Musician’s    Report: As we are without a Choir Mistress at present Gill Sims proposed a vote of thanks to Molly Cullen for her help with the choir over the last twelve months.

Tower Captain’s Report; Tricia Everitt had submitted her report which was read to the Meeting by Jenny Whitfield, a copy of which is attached.

Gill Sims and Celia Mayor are to take on responsibility for the Electoral             Roll

Thanks were expressed to Jenny Whitfield for her work as Secretary.

A.O.B.:    Mike Liley recorded a vote of thanks to Gill Sims for her continued help with the band together with Keith Mitchell.

Elaine Major confirmed that the fund raising had reached £2,654.55p.
The Bingo evening organised by Linda and Thelma Stamp had been a great success.

There is to be an Aller Extravaganza on 21st August 2010.

A Classical night is planned for July and a Jazz concert with Roger Bond later in the year.

The meeting was closed at 8.30pm with a Blessing given by Rev. Hugh Ellis.
