Aller Village Information

Aller Village Council Notes: 

Meeting with our Police Community Support Officer -- Our PCSO, Melanie Austin, will be holding a "Police Surgery" -- regular meeting hours in the Village Hall -- starting in January, 2010. She will be there from 6 to 7 p.m. to answer any policing queries you may have. Dates for her meetings will be on these Wednesdays: 27 January, 3 March, 7 April, 16 June, 21 July, 25 August, 29 September, 3 October and 8 December, 2010.

Aller Rec Information:
Aller Race Day will be a day of fun for people of all ages on 11th September 2010. This will be the lead fund-raiser for our playing field and other village causes. Please come and enjoy:

•    2pm: Opening parade and Snap Dragons performance.
•    2.20 pm: Children’s races/welly-wanging/ various stalls and excitements
•    Displays and try-it-out (Archery, Air Rifles, Falconry, Bell Ringing – have a go!)
•    4.00 pm: Aller’s Got Talent. (£1 entry fee per Performer, pay in advance or £2 on the day.)
•    4.45 pm: 2nd Annual Somerset Levels Downhill Go-cart Challenge. £ 2 entry in advance or £4 on the day -- Build a machine to be the best in the battle of speed and downhill skill – details on the village noticeboards and from 01458 250636 or info@dlltd.co.uk. Registration for talent show and carting also on this number please
 
Throughout the day:
* BBQ
* Bar with soft drinks
* Cream Teas
* Static Machines on display on the Field
* Many more events tbc!
 
Please phone 250636 if you have any ideas for stalls/events or would like to help in any way on the day; all funds in aid of the village hall and playing field

Aller Village Hall Activities:  
Macmillan Coffee Morning: Please join us for Aller’s session of The World’s Largest Coffee Morning. We will be enjoying a brew and a chat from 10 to 12 at the Village Hall on the 24th September. We welcome donations of cakes, jams, produce, bric-a-brac, etc. Questions etc. to Judy Martin, 01458 251 650.
